Who we are

The Donizetti Pastry, now a wine shop / restaurant, is located in the central Via Gombito, in the heart of Città Alta. Massimo together with his wife Nelly, the owners of this historic establishment since 1984, "have created a real living room for gourmets and oenophiles".

The original plate with the name "Pasticceria Donizetti" still stands out in the front door, which is still maintained today because it teaches history. Although it is no longer a pastry shop, it has become a real meeting point where you can stop for a simple aperitif, a snack or a dinner and live completely all that concerns the food and wine world.

The Kitchen: Heikki, the chef, offers a traditional but refined cuisine, trying to enhance local and non-local flavors. It pays particular attention to seasonal and zero kilometer products.

The wine cellar: Massimo together with his daughter Alessandra, select the wines of the winery offering an extensive wine list: in fact, there are more than 900 Italian and international labels.

For several years the wine shop has won the prestigious three-bottle award from the Gambero Rosso, which sees the best wine bars in Italy.

The Local: The romantic atmosphere, almost French that you can breathe inside the room, is the work of Nelly, who painstakingly recreated a relaxing and engaging environment.

When the season allows it is possible to stop in the beautiful outdoor dehor that overlooks the ancient decumanus of Bergamo.
